Did another track, called it merc_1, not sure it's good but who knows? What else, saw John for a nice breakfast and ran into our Christine in a cafe and resolved to do more family stuff, again. Let's hope though. Got attic tidied so there should be room for Colin and Tony. Not a bad day all told.

Hmm, started work reviewing an iPad drum machine but its timing sucks and it has no MIDI clock sync. Hey ho. Off to see John this morning for breakfast then back to writing music and reviews. Hope to clear some time for the guys at the weekend. Had weird dream about N, we were on some large hill overlooking this big shiny city with a lot of buildings like Frankfurt.

Well well, a lazy weekend. Needed it though. Swapped P25k for a Focusrite compressor jobby, looks cool too, especially for live. Les today then back to the usual library stuff.

Worked on a car ad track, quite promising and starting to get my head round string arrangements, inevitably breaking the rules before I fully understand them.

Have fleshed out novel plot far more in my head now, should write some down and even start to look at the chapter contents. Not that I'll have time to write it, but still.

Today back to looking at the effects unit that became a synth and maybe work on another ad track. The sun is shining and I'd rather go for a long walk...

just went out for a loaf.

I returned with three bottles of beer, some chocolate and a small tin of spaghetti.

Oops. Senior moment.

Review time again, words to trim mostly, might get into the studio for play depending on how easily I can be ruthless.

Worked on RR reviews, too many words as usual but it's a start. Will throw myself into it properly tomorrow. Red wine and writing, simple pleasures...

And Darkness Falls

Did a 17 minute piece today using just Synthi, Perfourmer and Repeater. Very minimal and abstract but I like it. It'll be the last track on "And Darkness Falls" I think. Still a few parts of that are sketchy but I basically went back to the old way of doing it all to two track and putting it together in Wavelab. Something about that method suits this album, I may dedicate it to Conrad Schnitzler, not heard anything about the tribute album for a while. Wish I could remember who the guy was doing it...

remembered and the album is stalled due to record company pulling out. Hey ho, will use the track elsewhere then.

Must press on with the batch of reviews too.

Back from Malta, a dull and overpopulated rock packed with churches, traffic and english OAPs. Itching to get into the studio but instead doing chores, filing a door, that sort of stuff. And my plane is blunt so I screwed the door a bit. Sod it, I deserve some me-time! :)
