Well, I finished a quick run-through of JAA so now both books are consistent, well pretty much. I sent a copy to Cara so she might read it sometime and let me know if there are any howlers, I can think of a few inconsistencies and parts I deliberately fluffed but I don't think they're hugely significant. She did suggest that the title of WSGL could be improved but I'm not sure about that, but open to ideas. Sent Steve some cash to work on the cover and had a few suggestions - a good cover that sells the book is more important than a shit cover that tells the story, if you see what I mean.
Have recorded a few decent things lately, including some lovely ambient stuff with Tim on Saturday. We were on form and Tim suggested that MFPE2 is entirely possible. Does seem a nice idea. Sent a bunch of tracks to DL for his CDR label, including the updated Beera (Brandenburg Mirror now).
Done a stint grandparenting, coming to an end today. Up at 1 a.m., or Pat was and I expect she'll sleep like a dead thing once he's away - and hopefully her cystisis will clear up once stress levels reduce.
Thursday, too wet to walk. Yesterday's thing is sorta nice. I dunno how long it will stay there as there's also the simpler version with no drums that I possibly prefer. This morning I moved Headshock stuff into year-named folders to make it easier to hear stuff from around the same time. Seems we've had a good few years in terms of making stuff that is instantly listenable.
Bad news from our neighbours across the road, they're selling up. Partly due to drain situation but mostly due to their immediate neighbours - the ones who drove our Gareth & Pam before them. :(
On Saturday Tim and I recorded the rather lovely Twizzel 3 - quite magical after just a few listens. How do we do it?
It's Monday and earlier I took the smallest load of frogspawn to the local pond in decades. Half a bucket full. We still have a few clumps so there should be some froglets but the new housing estate really restricts the route here and, of course, removes a vital habitat. Twat across the road has taken to parking his truck in the street again, presumably to make selling the house harder - but several couples have been looking already and I fear it will sell quickly. Then the cycle begins again.
The pigeon Pat rescued is still here, still alive. Not sure for how long but it seems to have adjusted to a life of being on the conservatory floor, sniffed at occasionally by Broc. A sunny morning so we had a decent walk, although my feet hurt a bit. Have started the Mike Oldfield autobiography this morning and downloaded a couple of books Cara recommended, should be good for our short break next month. Oh and I'm going to try Win10 on that laptop as I've given up trying to get Win11 to work after the last set of updates, fecking thing.
Could be time soon to start writing "A Familiar Tale". Just a few more details to work out.
The Uno Pro Synth arrived and I possibly like it more than the Monostation, at least so far. It's broadly tweakable and you can name patches and does have some sounds of interest already.
